George Bush Bows for His Only Leader
OK, so, last thing I’m gonna say about the bowing. We can probably dig up dozens to hundreds of pictures of Bush bowing to world leaders, or holding their hands, or some kind of equivalent thing that proves Republicans are total hypocrites, just like almost every complaint they’ve ever had against Obama makes them look like hypocrites and/or liars. Great. We know this already.
But maybe that’s not what this is about. Let’s be honest, making fun of Bush was fun. FUN! A whole industry was practically spawned over all the dumbness that used to come out of the guy’s mouth. Remember him dancing in Africa? Remember that time he tried to define tribal sovereignty and everyone in the room started laughing? Remember when none of the world leaders shook his hand at that summit thing? Remember the Olympic butt pat? While in full Tommy Bahama getup? The man was endless comedy. He still is! Will Ferrel took that shit to Broadway and has the DVD coming out in time for Christmas. They made a sitcom about Bush. AND a cartoon. AND basically two fake news shows. We made fun of that stupid piece of shit ENDLESSLY. And in our time of infinite pain that was the 43rd presidency, it was all we had. We needed to laugh, and I am forever grateful to those that provided the funnies.
As we speak, the right wing of America is in pain. Is it because they’re being lied to by their leaders? In my opinion, mostly, yes. But whatever, they’re hurting… and they need to laugh. They do! It’s the medicine. But it’s hard for them. Clinton was easy to make fun of. Bush I was too… Obama not so much. Making fun of dude is tough — especially for conservatives because race jokes aren’t super cool anymore and also I hear God hates laughter. Soooo maybe that’s what the whole bowing uproar is actually about? They can’t make fun of his blackness, he speaks well, isn’t fat, his wife is cool… I don’t think he’s even ever tripped in public. But! He did bow to a Japanese. LOL! Right? I mean, it’s being framed as criticism and not witticism, so I may be reaching a bit, but in the long run isn’t that really all the critics are saying? “Hey look at pussy face n0bama bowing like a loser. He doesn’t even understand Japanese greeting protocol! Giggles!” Basically, I think, yes.
And so, if it helps them, let them laugh at Obama. LET THEM LAUGH. But the ‘jokes’ better become actual funny jokes pretty damn soon.
