Follow Up of the Day: Yesterday, the Rev. Al Sharpton claimed that he had persuaded Lamar Advertising to remove the controversial billboard belonging to anti-abortion group Life Always from the SoHo street corner, where it was to remain for the next three weeks. Well, last night the sign did indeed come down.
In its statement concerning the billboard’s removal, Lamar Advertising cited safety concerns due to harassment allegedly taking place in the building’s ground-floor restaurant, Lupe’s. “Yesterday, somebody came into the restaurant harassing the waiters and waitresses,” Lamar Advertising GM Peter Costanza said in a phone interview with NYT’s City Room. “I don’t want any violence to happen around the buildings there.”

Tear that shit down and BURN IT.

Every now and then, sanity prevails. More of this please!
